Five Fantastic Things

I haven't done this in forever! I have just been crazy busy. I think this post will be a good reminder during the week to remember things I am grateful for. Especially now that it is winter, and it is dark and yucky outside! So here are my five fantastic things for this week.

  1. Friends that will always be there for you no matter what.
  2. Knowing that things happen for a reason, and if things are meant to work out they will.
  3. Watching friends falling for someone. I don't know why, but this just makes me happy.
  4. When you feel like you can't possibly get up to workout, but you do it anyway and feel great!
  5. Knowing you are loved.

Clothing Inspiration

Something I have recently found a love for is fashion! I don't know why, but I could spend hours looking at fashion blogs. I love how much you can express yourself through the clothing you wear. Something I have seen on a lot of these blogs is a clothing inspiration post. As you can see I have decided to do this as well. Here are some lovely ladies that simply inspire me.

Enjoy!

Christmas Wish

Well hello there. How was every one's Christmas? I had an amazing Christmas! I pretty much got an entire new wardrobe. What more could a girl ask for?
There is something that I am pretty excited to start doing for my blog. I am going to try and start doing Lately.. posts, which are post of pictures of just day to day things. I can now do this because I got and iphone! I am so excited about this. Now I can use Instagram to take more pictures because the camera on this phone is almost as good if not better than the digital camera I have now. So stay tuned!
Something I am a little bummed about is I did not listen to enough Christmas music this holiday season. It kind of just completely left my mind. I am going to try and get away with listening to it for a couple more days. One album I did listen to a lot was the "A Very She & Him Christmas" album. I absolutely love it! One of my favorite songs was Christmas Wish. Please enjoy! And Merry Christmas a day late!

School=Done!

WHOO!!! School is finally done! And I got out of it with only a cold. Still not fun, but whatever! I am excited to get back to blogging. Many exciting things are coming up. First of all it is almost Christmas!! Oh and my birthday. Oh and wait, my best friend is coming home. All sorts of happy things are coming. I am just extremely happy that I have the entire break to just relax, and not worry about school. That will be very great. Also, I realized that my birthday will never again be on a school night! Yay for college. Haha. Well I hope everyone is happy getting ready for Christmas. I know I am! Will post more soon. Sadly nothing remotely exciting has happened since I took my twoish week break. Oh well!

Five Fantastic Things

  1. This hot chocolate from A Beautiful Mess. How amazing does this look? I am sooo stoked to try it out.
  2. When you struggle with something for a long time, and then one day it just all seems to make sense.
  3. Thinking about traveling and all the places to go in the world. There is so much beauty around the world. I don't think I will ever be able to see it all.
  4. Listening to music that inspires you to be creative.
  5. Yoga. Lately I have been doing yoga and it has made such a difference in my day. I feel more relaxed and think more positively through the day when I do it in the morning. It is the best!

On Powdered Ground

Yay! I love a song for the week. I actually had a really long playlist this last week, but this is one of the songs I kept replaying over and over. It is called On Powdered Ground by Agnes Obel. I really love her voice. I think she would be good live. It is very unique.

Another very exciting thing is I got to go shopping at H&M! I am so happy to have one close. It seems like all of my favorite bloggers get a lot of their clothes from there, so hopefully I will score some finds!

This is the new dress I got! I am absolutely in love with it! It is one of those things where you have to limit how much you wear it, because you find yourself wanting to wear it everyday! I have been looking for a dress like this for a long time. This is how I styled it the first time I wore it.

dress/ h&m :: cardigan/ UO :: tights,belt, and shoes/ mom's closet

I don't quite know how I will survive when I move out. There are so many basic accessories that I do not own. Like a belt! I do not own my own belt. I should probably get crackin' on stuff like that.
I hope everyone is having a fantastic Thanksgiving break! Remember to spend time with family.

5. That my aunt and uncle from Bakersfield is coming for Thanksgiving!!!!

Nuvole Bianche

This song came on shuffle today, and it just left me heart broken. I used to play the piano all the time, and I have completely given it up. I have no idea how it ended up this way. Piano used to bring me more joy than anything. It was how I relieved my stress, and forgot about all my problems. I seriously don't know why I gave it up. It moves me more than anything. I hate being asked to play piano now, realizing, I probably couldn't because I haven't touched a piano in the longest time. I don't know if this all happened because I became to busy or what.

I am making a goal to start playing again. I swear I don't do anything I used to enjoy anymore. I swear school has just swallowed me whole. I never find the time to do anything. I used to read a book a week, and play the piano for an hour a day. I am determined to get things back to the way they used to be. School is important, but it isn't worth giving up everything you love. Has this happened to anyone else? I say we all take a moment this week to do something that we love. Forget about every other stupid thing that is going on in our lives, and do something or find something we are passionate about. Don't let it go. It just isn't worth it. School isn't forever.

Understanding Relationships

Relationships. Such a complicated concept at times. I apologize for this post, but this has been on my mind a lot lately. I promise I am not trying to be judgmental in any way with what I have to say. It is just simply how I feel. If you are touchy about relationships, I suggest you don't read this.

Lately I lot of girls my age have become engaged. I am almost nineteen. I have nothing against getting married young at all. If that is what you want go for it! The thing that I don't understand is how can you marry someone after knowing them only four ish months! It is just unimaginable to me. I simply do not get this. You can't KNOW a person in four months.

I guess when it comes to dating I have a few theories. These theories so far have proven to be true I would say. This is my take on relationships. You start to like a person. There is a six month to one year stage where you are absolutely head-over-heels in love with this person. The can do absolutely no wrong in your eyes. They are the most perfect human being in the entire world. After that six month to a year period, a point hits when you start to realize things you don't like about the person you are "madly in love" with. You don't like a certain type of music they listen, or really random things like that. You start to fight a little bit more, and things aren't always perfect. This is the point were most people break up. I believe that getting past that stage is when you KNOW that you can marry a person. When you realize all the little things about them that drive you crazy, but you love them anyway. THAT is what love is. Love is when you have been through straight crap with a person, but after it is all over or even during you realize you could never be with anyone else. When you are mad at each other you only want to be with that person. You would do anything for them. You will stick with them when things get bad. You stick with them when they have heard times, and they stick with you when you do as well. Loving someone is completely forgetting yourself, and giving all you have to that person.

Why then are people getting married after only a couple months of knowing each other! Is it that hard to just stick it out. If you really love that person wouldn't it be worth it to wait a year or so. What is the harm? With the divorce rate being 50% in the U.S you think people would be a little more cautious. So I say wait just a little while. Try and get past that lovey dovey phase, because I can promise you it does not last forever. It is getting past that and realizing you still love someone when you know it is real. Believe it is not that bad. I have been with the love of my life for almost three years, and I am still so happy. I know we can make it through anything because we have been through everything. I still love him when we fight, and I still love him when he annoys the crap out of me! He is my everything and I know this because of how long we have dated. Really people a couple of months is not long enough to know a person. I am still learning things about Curtis that I never knew. Just try to wait a little longer to make sure it is the real deal. Seriously how could it hurt anything? All it does is solidify your decision to be with someone forever. I want everyone to experience what it is like to really know someone, and be completely confident in marrying someone after you know the stuff that annoys you. So give it a try!

Mindless Driving

This is an extremely random post that I have wanted to write about for quite some time now. Have you ever been driving and then you get to a certain point, and you have absolutely no idea how you got there? Not like you were not paying attention while driving. Up until a certain point you remember going the speed limit and being aware of your surroundings, but for some reason at some random point you think to yourself "How did I get here?"
I don't know about everyone else, but this happens to me all the time! I will just be thinking and listening to music in my car when I realize I have just driven a mile and I feel like I didn't even know it. I think "Was a paying attention to driving that whole time?" This usually makes me panic, but after I think about it I realize I was paying attention. For some reason it was just completely wiped out of my memory of how I got from point A to point B.
Does this happen to anyone else? I usually am deep in thought when this happens, so that might be the reason it happens so often. Such a strange thing.
Well anyway...This weeks song is Die Alone by Ingrid Michaelson. This song has been stuck in my head ALL WEEK! This is the song I find myself singing to myself on a daily basis.

Enjoy!
And everyone next time you drive, see if you are a culprit of mindless driving. And let me know so I can figure out if I am just strange!

A Good Conversation

Yesterday I was going through all the many blogs that I read when I stumbled upon I Think I Just Blogged Myself and read a very interesting blog post. It was about having a good conversation with friends. A conversation about the things that are actually important in life, should be important in life, or not important at all. Just a conversation with a little bit of everything.
As I continued to read this post I realized how much I wish I could have a good conversation with someone. It seems as though I always have so much going on, and there is no one to talk to sometimes. Most of my friends don't live near me anymore, so it is hard to talk sometimes. I really just want to go to a little coffee shop, bookstore, or anywhere quiet and just have a good conversation. I want to have a conversation that makes me think, and that makes me question.

I feel that some part of never having good conversations anymore has to do with the invention of texting. You are talking to people almost 24 hours a day, so you never feel the need to have a REAL conversation. Only bits and pieces of your day. You can't have a really good conversation over texts. You just can't. You can't really have that great of conversations of the phone either. It is the face to face conversations that you remember the most. Maybe that is because they don't happen that often anymore. So here is to real conversations, and may there be more of them please!

Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?

This post is definitely a little late but happy Halloween! I absolutely love Halloween. Scary movies are definitely a favorite. Curtis' family had an Indiana Jones costume party which was soo much fun! You should have seen the decorations. His mom is fantastic. The food was also incredible. Curtis went as the Hatay tank driver that gets shot in the forehead. His costume was seriously spot on! I went as short round from The Temple of Doom. It was a little difficult considering I am not Chinese. I didn't really end up looking anything like him, but my costume was so comfortable! It was like wearing pajamas I swear.

Doesn't he look exactly like him! I thought it was hilarious, and very original. Well I just figured I had to put these pictures up sometime, so here you go. Hopefully I will have something more interesting to blog about soon!

For Miles

So I am kind of freaking out because the Thrice concert is tomorrow!!! I can't even explain how stoked I am. I am getting off work early and everything! This is one of my favorite songs by them. I actually made my own music to these lyrics for my Music Theory class in high school. Definitely don't remember how it goes at all.
I hope everyone is having just a fantastic and safe Halloween. I believe my night will consist of eating the candy we are supposed to be handing out to trick or treaters, and eating pizza. What a life I say!

Pumpkin Makeover

Yesterday Curtis and I finally carved our pumpkins for Halloween! It was quite and adventure and quite a mess. I feel like I have only carved about three pumpkins in my life, so I would say I am slacking in the pumpkin carving art. It was still extremely fun, although I had a few moments of complete frustration with my pumpkin. Haha
Please enjoy our wonderful pumpkins!
I didn't take any pictures during because my hands were covered in pumpkin. Here is the finished product!
This is my crazy boyfriend. No his face does not normally look like that. Haha He did a portrait of Kenny Wormald who is the new Ren MacCormack in Footloose. Footloose is my all time favorite play/musical I guess you could say, so I forced Curtis to go see the new movie with me. Look who is the fan now!
This was the first thing I carved into my pumpkin. I got a huge pumpkin as you can see, so I was able to fit two pictures on here. This was extremely difficult for me for some reason, but at least it makes me laugh. And that black crayon stuff was supposed to come of, but it definitely did not!
This was my second picture. As you can see the two have absolutely nothing to do with each other, but I couldn't make up my mind! This is why I decided to do both instead! This side was very frustrating for me, but I think I like how it turned out. It looks a lot better lit up :)

Well those are the fabulous pumpkins created by Shelby and Curtis. Now I am sitting at home sick, because someone *cough* Curtis *cough* got me sick. Now I get to enjoy a lovely day looking at blogs, and stalking on Facebook. Oh what a wonderful day! Here is what I currently look like in my sick state.

That is a real beauty if I have ever seen one! Haha Hopefully I can feel good enough tomorrow so I can dress up as a hot dog for work. Crossing my fingers...maybe

Five Fantastic Things

  1. Driving through a pile of leaves and watching them in the rear view mirror.
  2. Making new friends
  3. The new office! ( I plan on posting pictures soon)
  4. The fact that my mom still makes my lunch! Thank you mommy
  5. For some reason just being completely content with life. I have no idea what it is, but I am just happy and it is the most fantastic thing ever!
I have decided that I am really bored with my header. Maybe it is because I don't have one at all! So if anyone would be so sweet as to help me make one it would be much appreciated! I have no idea how to do anything like that. I don't even know how this blog is running. I really have no clue what I am doing haha
I have been in a very creative mind-set recently. I think it is because of my mom, and all her awesome creativity that she has put into her new office. I really just feel like making something! Anyone have any fun DIY projects that are fairly cheap? I really just need to do something!
Today Curtis and I are going to carve us some pumpkins! I am absolutely stoked. Not quite sure what I want to do yet, but I know it will come to me.
Well this is extremely random, but I am in the Marriot Library's cafe right now, and it smells like someone is cooking fish in the microwave...it smells horrible! I may have to move because it is proving to be a distraction to me.

Picture Perfect

So I just turned in another assignment for my photography class today, and I realized just how hard it is to capture a photo that you see perfectly in your head. This could be due to the fact that when you picture a photo in your head it looks absolutely stunning! haha
This last photo assignment we had to make a list of ten things that make our heart beat faster. I had so many wonderful things in my head, but when I developed my photos.... it was very disappointing. I guess the reason for this is because it is so hard to capture emotion in a photograph. For example, when you go on a hike. You spend hours hiking up to the top of a mountain, and after all the sweating and tears (yes sometimes tears) you look up and there is the most beautiful image you have ever seen. No matter how hard you try, you can't get how beautiful it really is in a picture. That is because it is all about the experience of getting to that point, and everything that leads up to it.
One of the things on my list was holding hands. That is such a simple photograph. It is so hard to get into the photo why that makes my heart beat faster. The photograph can't tell you that I liked this boy for a year before we finally held hands, and when we did it made my heart beat like crazy and my stomach was exploding with butterflies!
I guess this could be due to the fact that it takes about 1/60 of a second to take a picture. Not a lot of time to get much emotion in there! Oh well. Haha What can you do about that?!

Pumpkins

I really really really really want to carve a pumpkin!!! Anyone in Utah know a good place to get pumpkins?

Recovery

I am back! Whoo! My computer unfortunately had an illness known as the virus. Not a very good thing I must say. This is why I have failed to post anything for a week. But it is back and running, and hopefully it is all fixed! I had the most fabulous weekend. Mostly because I got to hang out with my best friend in the entire world Sarah! She has lived in California for most our life, but now she goes to school in Utah and I get to see her a lot more often! It is the best thing in the entire world.
As I took a short break from this thing we call the Internet, I pondered about what I really want this blog to be, and the truth is... I have no idea. I thought I wanted it to be all about fashion, and my personal style, but now that I have started I don't know if that is what I really want anymore. It has proven to be difficult for me. I feel like as I read back on my few posts, this blog really isn't about me. I feel like I got so caught up in what it should be, instead of just expressing myself through it.
So all I have to say is I don't know what this blog will be about anymore. I think I will still try to do the outfit posts, but I want this blog to be about what inspires me. So many things inspire me. I want this to be a place where I can put it down and remember it for a later day that I might need it. I want this to be about my life in college and the friends I make. I want this to be about my relationship, and how it progresses.
Hopefully this change will be one for the better, because I have just realized that it doesn't matter what people think. This is for me.
On that note here is the song that has inspired me this week. Of course it is another Thrice song! Only one more week until the concert!!!!! This weeks song is called The Melting Point Of Wax.
I just love Thrice. Thank you to Curtis for introducing them to me!

I hope whoever reads this blog is ok with the changes. Now you can get a taste of the real me.

Music Box

It is time for my weekly song. This weeks song is by Thrice. I have started to listen to them a lot lately. Probably because I am going to there concert in a couple weeks!!! So stoked!

I love the beginning of this song. It is awesome! Well I have to go for now. School has started again and I have to go to bed now. Later this week I will have to go into great detail about my camping trip over the weekend. There is just to much to write. Haha Such an experience. Stay tuned!

Five Fantastic Things

It is time for another refreshing Five Fantastic Things. It is sad. Even though it is fall break, I still feel like I have a million things to do that I am not getting done. I am definitely ready for this post. I am ready for this post every week!

  1. My big fat lab Calvin. He always puts a smile on my face :)
  2. Clean sheets! I need to do this soon haha
  3. Falling asleep when it is cold outside
  4. Going to new places! Like the Leonardo museum that Curtis and I went to. So awesome!
  5. This Pumpkin Pie Milkshake recipe that I got from A Beautiful Mess' blog. I am sooo excited to try it. Curtis and I plan on making it tonight! You have no idea how long I have been waiting for this! haha

Well I hope everyone is having a wonderful Wednesday! Anyone have any more fun fall recipes to try?

Hurricane

Yay! I have actually done another outfit post. This is so exciting. Except when I went to take pictures one of my neighbors decided to start mowing their lawn so they were just staring at me. Awkward!!

I had such a fun weekend! Curtis planned a surprise date which he just loves to do. It drives me crazy! haha I never know what is going on until we pull up and park! My favorite part was going to the new museum by the Salt Lake City library. It is amazing! It is a Sci+Tech+Art museum. There are so many fun things to do there! I would most definitely recommend it.
I also got to go to lunch with my friend Rachael! It was aweseome! She is so darling. We went to Corner Bakery which I am convinced has the best paninis ever! Sooo delicious.

This week is fall break and it has been soo nice! Except I feel like now that I have all this free time I am missing something. I keep feeling like I am forgetting something to do. Probably getting a role of film done by next Monday! I am excited because I got my film in the mail today. I also got rocket duster thingie to clean my film. It is awesome. Now I don't have to borrow everyone elses.

I think I need to get comfortable taking these pictures so that I can venture out of my backyard. I do not have a big backyard, and I am running out of places. It isn't exactly the most scenic, but that is ok. Not to mention going through our grass is an adventure in itself. We have three dogs. I am guessing you can do the math on the kind of mess that makes. Not very fun I tell ya. haha Oh well. I am deteremined to do more outfit posts this week, and so far so good!
cardigan /UO : : dress, boots, and tights/ mom's closet

So pretty much you can see that the only thing I wore today that was actually mine was my cardigan. I have no idea what I am going to do if I move out. My entire wardrobe is going to vanish. All the little things like belts and shoes! I am not going to know what to do. I guess I need to start collecting good solid pieces for my wardrobe, so that if I happen to move out I won't completetly be lost.
So my all time favorite blog Delightfully Tacky had the most awesome post the other day. She is engaged, so her and her fiance are trying to come up with new traditions for themselves. The first one was going to a pumpkin patch every fall. I absolutely love this idea!! I personally can't remember ever going to a pumpkin patch, so I think it would be a fun tradition to start. Curtis and I are going to go soon, and we are also going to go to a corn maze! I am so excited! Click here if you want to see Elizabeth from Delightfully Tacky's darling pictures she took at her first pumpkin patch. So festive!

Now for the song of the week! This week I chose Hurricane by The Hush Sound. I don't know why, but I really feel like this song goes with the weather we have been having. It has been raining pretty much non stop, and pretty chilly. Of course I am absolutely in love with it. I really love The Hush Sound. Curtis introduced me to them a couple years ago and I have been hooked ever since. I hope you enjoy! Is there any music that you think describes the weather?

Five Fantastic Things

Yay! I love these.

  1. Fall Break!!! It is much needed right about now.
  2. Fuzzy socks. I swear they are always so much warmer than regular socks.
  3. Having no homework over fall break. As a freshman in college this concept is completely new to me! Apparently the professors actually want you to have a break! I am used to making a schedule of my insane homework load that was given specifically because there was a break in high school. Oh how I love this change! haha
  4. Cool colored nail polish. It is so nice to look down at my nails and not be disgusted.
  5. New haircuts!!! I just went shorter. Hope to have pictures soon!
Well that is it for this weeks Five Fantastic Things! It is much needed right now considering I am in the middle of finishing a 1500 word essay due tomorrow. Only about 550 more words to go thank goodness! This is what has been consuming me this last week. Much apologies. After this is finished I am free! I can't wait.

Weekly Song (On Tuesday)

Wow! I am a major loser, and I have had absolutely no time to do any posts! I need to pick it up! This week is mid-terms so it is insanely busy. All my teachers are trying to pack in as much as they can before our week long break next week. I will probably have a lot more posts next week because what else am I going to do! My goal is going to be at least five. Hopefully I can at least do that!

So I missed my weekend recap AND my weekly song! So I am going to do both of those today! haha.
I had a very fun weekend! Of course me being me, I totally spaced on the whole camera aspect of it. Sooo no pictures :( so unfortunate! To start of Curtis and I went and saw 50/50! All I can say is this movie was absolutely incredible! I had been waiting to see it for about a month and a half, so I was behond stoked to see it on Friday. All I can say is I want to see it again! It is hilarious for being a movie about cancer. The acting is so incredible! I am just so impressed and in love with it. Definitlely go see it! I say it is worth your money.

So that was my awesome Friday! On Saturday I had a really busy day. I practically spent my entire day at the darkroom trying to develop my film for an assignment that was due in my darkroom photography class today. I am really know good at loading my own film. It serioulsy took me like 15 minutes! I really hope that I can get a bit faster than that. haha

I am sooo excited for our next assignment! We are having more of a focus on the depth of field we use and using a longer shutter speed to capture things in motion. One of the requirements of this assignment is making a list of "10 things that make your heart beat faster." I am having so much fun with this concept! What I love about this project is it is not about going out and trying to find a good picture, but it is creating it in your mind and transfering that onto film. I am so stoked to begin!

Anyway, after my many hours at the darkroom I got to hang out with some girlfriends! It was so awesome. At first we wanted to go to a haunted house. We were supposed to go with a big group, but in the end it only ended up being four of us! haha So while we were standing in line with a bunch of seventh graders, we decided we did not want to pay $20 to go with such a small group. It really isn't as much fun with a small group. Instead we went to Village Inn were I had an incredible meal! They do this thing were you pick for items, and it is only like six bucks! And they are good things like crepes and french toast! I am an absolute sucker for breakfast for dinner! It was so fun to just hang out with girls considering I don't do that very often. Pretty much the entire night consists of luaghing so hard we all start to cry. Such good times!

Now for the weekly song that I forgot to do yesterday! I have composed quite a playlist this week, but the lucky winner this week is Satellite Heart by Anya Marina. I really love this song. The guitar is so pretty. It is kind of funny though. I was driving in my car and I had just listened to this song. I pulled up to a stop light and the car next to me is playing this song! haha Of course I started to sing along to the music that was not in my own car. It was just to tempting! It was just like, "Hey, I know this song!" I just thought that was extremely random and quite a coincidence.

Enjoy!!

Five Fantastic Things

Whoo!!!! Here is this weeks Five Fantastic things! I love doing this post.

  1. Finding out all the classes that you have to take to complete your major! I don't know why, but this is really exciting for me.
  2. Ham on pizza! I have been really into this lately.
  3. Seeing people with crazy cool colors in their hair. I saw someone today with turquoise in her hair. It definitely inspired me!
  4. Breakfast for dinner :)
  5. Ellen Degeneres! One of my favorite people ever! She never fails to bring tears to my eyes from laughter.
Well there are some pretty fantastic things. I really am thinking about the whole turquoise hair thing. Not my whole head! Maybe just a streak or something! I did manage to take pictures of my outfit today so it is a double whammy!

I am still getting used to the whole taking pictures of myself, so bare with me! It is proving to be harder than I thought it would be. I don't know why it is proving to be so difficult for me haha. I really like this outfit. This cardigan thing is a piece that I just absolutely love! My mom was the one who thrifted it. When we had a garage sale this ended up outside, so I quickly stole it and brought it to the safety of my closet!

These boots sometimes are not the most comfortable to walk in, but I just love them! I got them for Christmas last year, and they have had a lot of use! I wore them almost every day in the winter.

dress/target : : cardigan/thrifted : : tights/mom's closet : : boots/nordstrom : : belt/mom's closet

Well today has proven to be a good day. I finally had the time to do another outfit post. I really need to figure out this whole situation haha. I am just so busy with school that I usually forget about it. I did miss the bus today because I was taking these pictures. I had to run up the dang street! This has happened more than once. It seems like the times I am running late are the only time EVER that the bus is actually on time! Oh well what can you do.

Well I hope everyone has had a splendid Wednesday. Yay for the middle of the week!

Skyscraper

Yay! It is time for the weekly song again! So pretty much I gather a list of all my favorite songs for the week, and then I just choose a random one for this post. I can't ever decide on just one, so I have to do it at random because I like them all! Obvisously, they are on my weekly playlist!

The song for this week is "Skyscraper" by Demi Lovato. Yes I admit that I listen to Demi Lovato. This song is pretty inspiring to me. I really love what she is doing with the whole anti- bullying thing. It is time a celebrity stood up for us girls, and told us it is ok to not be a size 0, and then not being a size 0 herself haha It is all about being healthy! Girls need to stop comparing themselves to others, and realize that we are all beautiful and different. It isn't worth it wasting away your life trying to become someone else. Just be yourself!

Well anyway here is the song! The lyrics are pretty powerful. Enjoy!

Also here is the link to Demi's interview with Ellen! This is a little bit more about what she hopes to accomplish. Demi Interview

A Marvelous Weekend

This weekend was a date weekend. I went on pretty much TWO dates with my love (aka Curtis) and it was awesome. It was nice to be out and about for a little while. On Friday (the actual date) we went to dinner at Rodizio Grill which was absolutely fantastic! Then we went to go see Midnight in Paris (again) at the Broadway Theater, but they didn't take American Express so that didn't end up working out. It was ok though. It was still fun to just spend time with each other!

On Saturday it was a complete accident that we pretty much went out on another date. We decided to go to our favorite restraunt Cinegrill! We have been going to Cinegrill frequently for the past two and a half years. We love it! The atmosphere is great for just talking. It is nice because it usually is just a bunch of old people, so you just sit and listen to the piano player and talk. No noisy children! haha

This pizza is usually what we always get when we go. It is amazing!!! Pepperoni with feta cheeses crumbled on top. What could be better!

This picture is pretty awful, but I absolutely love this wall painting! This spans an entire wall of the restaurant. It has such a fun feel to it.

This picture is in no way flattering to me, but it never fails to absolutely crack me up! Curtis just had the most perfect timing to take it while that lady in the back was taking a HUGE bite of food! hahaha These little moments never fail to put a smile on my face. It is just brilliant.

After this we didn't know what to do so we went to a drive-in movie! I absolutely love drive-ins. We went and saw Contangion. It is kind of depressing. The first five minutes of the movie your are just like, wait what? How long has the movie been going for? haha So Curtis and I had to fun nights full of fun!

Today was fun to! Curtis and I went and took some pictures! I have to have an entire roll of film done by my next photo class on Tuesday, so I stressing a bit. You wouldn't think it is hard, but I want to feel like every picture is worth it considering film is so dang expensive. Curtis and I also went to his grandma and grandpa's house to celebrate his grandpa's 80th birthday! Whoo keep it going grandpa haha of course there were all sorts of delicious treats to be had, and then we went to Trio aferwards to get dinner. Dessert is always so much better when you have it before dinner. I need to make sure I work out major this week. Eating out three days in a row is not really agreeing with me!

I have been a major slacker and have only had one outfit post in the last week. I have come to realize that this is extremely hard! haha I am barely home, so I am always trying to fit something in. My goal this week is to at least do three. I am really bummed to because I loved the clothes a wore this weekend. Oh well. What can you do? Hopefully I can find some more time for it this weekend.

Well I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!

Five Fantastic Things

1. The days when I wake up and my hair is NOT flying in a million different directions

2. Realizing a musical artist you love just released a new album, and you don't have to wait 5 months for it to come out!

3. When friends come to visit you :)

4. Chicken Enchiladas

5. When that crazy guy in your Severe Weather class (don't judge) continues to say the most ridiculous things that make you laugh to yourself for ten minutes straight!

I wish I had some cool header or design for this post, but I am not skilled like that. Instead you get just plain old text! Yay! I think I am going to do a post like this every week. It is nice to just sit back and think of the little crazy things that make life beautiful, and put a smile on your face. It is so refreshing!

Mustard

So I am going to try my first outfit post! I would not exactly call this one a success. I hope that I will get better as time goes on. So bear with me for these first few haha I really am liking the color mustard, but unfortunately I don't really have anything besides this shirt that is mustard. What is even more unfortunate is that it isn't even mine, it's my mom's haha good thing she is good at sharing!

I really love this wood ring that I have. I am being extra careful with it, because I accidentally cracked the band from playing with it. Oops! I got this ring in California when I went to go visit my best friend this summer. It was only $5 which I thought was a steal!

You can't really tell in this picture, but these shoes are a little worn out. I have seriously had them since like ninth grade and I still wear them. They are pretty much slippers which is the best thing ever. They also go with everything which is really nice.

I am hoping that my new camera comes in the mail tomorrow! I had to go buy two rolls of film which ended up costing me a whopping $16! Not to stoked about that. They were also out of negative sleeves which was also a problem. Looks like I am going to have to spend some time on Amazon this week trying to snag some good deals on camera stuff. My darkroom photography class is ending up costing me a fortune, but it somehow seems to remain my favorite class. Probably because it is an awesome skill to have. I hope I never forget how to do it, because I seriously just love it.

Well know I get to go to the good ol' job at the aftercare. I start to get my own group today so wish me luck!!

Weekly Song

Soo... I am having major issues trying to figure out how on earth you add a playlist to your blog! I tried using playlist.com, but they had about three of the songs I was looking for. Fail! So if anyone has any clue how to do this (add it to a post, not auto play music for the blog) help would be much appreciated! Instead I will do a weekly song until I can figure this thing out.

The song I chose for this week I actually stumbled upon today while riding the bus. It is funny how I listen to my i pod almost every day, and still manage to find songs I have never heard before. I love it! It is a nice little surprise. The song I found is called "Where Do I Stand?" by As Tall As Lions. Not completely sure why I like this so much. Just do. Enjoy!

This Ones For The Long Run

Yay! So this is my third attempt at a blog, and I am crossing my fingers that I will stay motivated for this one. I didn't have the same inspiration that I do for this blog with the others. For the past year now I have been a little obsessed with blogs, especially fashion blogs. My main inspiration has been the blog of Elizabeth from Delightfully Tacky. I had never seen that kind of a blog before, and now my third (and hopefully final!) blog attempt will be that of a fashion/lifestyle blog!

I don't really know why I never thought of this before because it is so perfect. This is the place I want to document and share my inspiration. I love beautiful things, and I constantly keep an inspiration folder of all the things that inspire me. I hope that this can be a better way of letting me document my inspiration!

So...know what to talk about haha how about my weekend! This weekend was an absolute treat! For the first time in my life I went to the State Fair. It was quite the experience that I will willingly have again! Talk about fashion inspiration at that place! I tried my first exotic deep fried treat (deep fried cheesecake) while I watched a friend try a deep fried twinkie wrapped in bacon... I was not that adventurous! I am extremely bummed out because we ended up hitting a butt load of traffic so by the time we got there, the lighting for my Diana F+ was just not cutting it. Of course I didn't take another camera so all the glorious picture opportunities will have to wait until next year.

Well I think that is it for today. Yay my first post! How exciting :) I hope you all have a wonderful day, and help me stay motivated to stick this one out!
